world traveller...

or at least domestic traveller...

Tyler has flown! He did great. He basically slept through it. He was a little bored on the flight to Philly but was easily entertained. It's funny how many different ways people can show that they're not thrilled to be sitting near the baby. Disdain, loathing, anger, disappointment, seething, all look very different (and all done subconsciously). It's also very funny to see how quickly those looks disappear when the baby's mom cheerfully announces that they "won the baby lotto!".

Once we were in pa we partied non-stop. We met up with some old friends and some new ones. Daddy got his Friendly's ice cream and Mommy got her Capt. Gus cheeseburger sub. We spent most of Saturday celebrating a friend's wedding. It was beautiful!

We also partied all night at the reception. Tyler got laid!

that's John in the glasses (we went to high school together).

We left Lancaster and headed out to the Bryn Mawr area of Philly to see family. I don't think I got to hold Tyler much while we were there. We went to the Devon Horse Show for fudge While there. They are famous for the fudge (and lemon sticks ~ take a lemon and jam a candy straw in it, squeeze and drink). Tyler also got to ride the carousel. He decided to take a big poo right before I put him up there, so there was some cleaning needed after (and Mommy was pretty smelly for a little while). But he seemed to really enjoy it.

next up... ROAD TRIP!

My little rock star...

Tyler is growing sooo fast! He'll be going off to college before we know it (less than four years according to the previous post). Just look how big he's getting...

This is Dudley, NeeNee made him for Tyler. He's a giant stuffed turtle. The left side is Tyler when he first came home in January. The right is Tyler a few days ago!

This is Maisie Dog, he was a gift from Cousin Maisie (who also named him). Left is February, right is a few days ago.

And Bear (a gift to me from Holton years ago) ... Left is January, right is a few days ago.
Back to packing for our flight tomorrow!

Park Fun!

Today Tyler and I walked up to the local park today. It was a beautiful spring day with a nice breeze. After putting on my new licence plates we strolled up. We had fun talking (well I talked he just stared at me and occasionally "coo-ed") about all the stuff we passed, dogs, fences, people in backyards. We also talked about the pool, which opens memorial day weekend. I'm looking forward to taking him swimming all summer long. I can't wait til he and his siblings are big enough to take to Water World.

Our next adventure... FLIGHT (check back after memorial day)...

MOMMY!!

First things first... I guess I have to get better at writing on here since "some people" won't be as close as they used to be and will need Tyler updates. So I'll try, I make no promises that I'll have the time but I'll try.

So today was mother's day so I thought I would reflect on the journey thus far as a Mommy. It's been a wild almost 5 months. Our little man will be 5 MONTHS OLD in just 4 days. Feels like just yesterday I was relishing being pregnant.

We started with a fighter in the NICU who surprised his doctors and nurses every day. He started at 4 pounds and is now pushing 12. He's mastered smiling, cooing, rolling from his tummy to his back and swimming. He's working on giggling, he's given it a try once or twice for mommy. He's also working on sitting up and only needs a little stabilizing help, though like a true boy tends to always fall forward on to a nice soft landing on Mommy's boobs. He's become a true little social butterfly and generally loves anyone who will hold him and play with him. He loves to flirt with little old ladies too. He's generally a happy little boy who mastered sleeping through the night the day after his due date (so just shy of 2 months old).

Today he had his second round with solid foods. We tried rice cereal again. The first round was a bit confusing. He seemed to like the taste but couldn't figure out what to do with it, spit it out or swallow it. This time, however, he loved every bit of it. He kept screaming for more. Probably ate 1/8th of a cup and then nursed. He finally just pulled the spoon out of Mommy's hand and decided to do it himself, apparently I wasn't doing it fast enough. It did make for a messier baby but he's a genius. I figure he'll be in college by the time he's 5.

I'm a proud MOMMY!
