I'm baaaaccckkkkk!!!!

I'm baaaacccckkkkk ..... here's hoping I've figured out the photo stuff...

Tyler is now almost 18 months. He's walking and signing and babbling fool. He's also going to be a big brother around his 2nd birthday! There will be a more extensive update soon.

as promised...

So I'm having problems with the uploading of pictures (stupid quotas)... but I'm working on it.

Halloween was fun. Tyler made a very cute turtle and enjoyed trick or treating in the neighborhood. He was a hit with the neighbors (some of whom didn't even know we'd had a kid).

He is also now working on crawling. He'll get to his knees and wiggle then land splat on his tummy. He's got the army crawl down though so now whenever you put him down you gotta watch him.

Right now our little bug has a case of the crud. I think it's mostly teething but he's snuffly and snotty. He's cheerful but really hates having his nose suckered out. Now if only we could teach him to blow his nose.

We are looking forward to the up coming holidays but I can't believe he's almost 1!

Busy Bee...

We have been a busy place for the last few weeks. Cousin Maisie came to town for Camp Denver. We had a blast making cakes and visiting the zoo. Tyler had a new friend at one point on our stroll toward the merry-go-round. He seemed to like his new friend.
And of course we had to stop and see the polar bear... though he was in a small enclosure because they were cleaning his regular home.
We had fun playing and trying to make Tyler giggle. Cousin Maisie (in the pink) brought her friend Katie too.
We've spent the last few days taking the wall paper off the master bathroom. A tedious and arm breaking chore. We're planning on repainting it water color blue. Here's Mom up on the sink getting the last pieces of the outer paper.

And Daddy working on the tub side of the wall. PopPop helped too, while NeeNee played with Tyler.
Giggling at Daddy...

Aaarrrrggg!!! I want that camera!!!

The tickle monster struck!

Helping Mommy fold my clothes...

Upcoming fun...
~ Deaf safari day at the zoo

Cowboys, Duckies and Swings

Our little man is growing up fast. He's decided that he likes to dress like and be surrounded by cowboys!
We don't have photos of him in the tub... but he has discovered the art of splashing. He exercises his little legs and arms and makes a general mess of anything in the bathroom. The cats refuse to get anywhere near the tub when he's in it now (one too many splashes).
So today we took a picnic to the park and had a blast! They had a great infant and small toddler area with swings and slides and stuff. They had a tube with portholes in it...

and an abacus...

Plus a bouncy jeep thing...

We had so much fun! They also have paddle boats and ducks and geese to feed.

Laughter's the best medicine

I know every Mom thinks her kid is the funniest kid EVER... But I REALLY AM! (and since I only have one kid I can say that he's the funniest kid EVER). We were watching tv tonight (gotta love Bill Engvall) and decided to play with the boy. He was standing there looking at me so I started tickling him (he has recently decided that this is a fun game), and since he was standing he started hopping from foot to foot and giggling. I am apparently easily amused and started laughing hysterically. This confused Tyler and so he kept giving me these looks of mixed confusion and concern. Then as I started to regain my composure, he'd grin at me and I'd lose it again.

I'm sure it was much funnier to watch than it is to read. Jess was thoroughly amused, especially when I begged him to take the baby so I could pee. Either way my stressful and crazy day is now much better! Gotta love kids.
